JESUS IS COMING BACK!

When Jesus Christ was with his disciples, He told them that He was coming back. Though He did not mention the time nor the date, all He said was “Be Ready”.

In the 4 Gospels of the Bible, Jesus emphasized that his followers should be ready and expect his return.

Matthew 24:44
“Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.”

Mark 13:32-37
“But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. Take heed, watch and pray; for you do not know when the time is.  It is like a man going to a far country, who left his house and gave authority to his servants, and to each his work, and commanded the doorkeeper to watch. Watch therefore, for you do not know when the master of the house is coming—in the evening, at midnight, at the crowing of the rooster, or in the morning— lest, coming suddenly, he find you sleeping. And what I say to you, I say to all: Watch!”

Luke 21:36
“Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man.”

John 14:3
“And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.”

Even Paul’s 1st letter to the Thessalonians talked about Jesus’ return.

1 Thessalonians 4:16; 5:6

“For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.” “Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober.”

Jesus said in Luke 12:35-40 that faithful servants (Christians) should await the return of their Master (Jesus Christ).

35 “Let your waist be girded and your lamps burning;
36 “and you yourselves be like men who wait for their master, when he will return from the wedding, that when he comes and knocks they may open to him immediately.

37 “Blessed are those servants whom the master, when he comes, will find watching. Assuredly, I say unto you that he will gird himself and have them sit down to eat, and will come and serve them.

38 “And if he should come in the second watch, or come in the third watch, and find them so, blessed are those servants.

Church leaders should incorporate more teachings about Jesus’ second coming for His church than about prosperity and wealth. Though there is nothing wrong with that, but if pastors and ministers emphasize too much about gaining material happiness and achieving success in this world, then they are not fulfilling their true calling as pastors. They are no different from motivational speakers and authors that places to much importance and focus in this world.

As Christians, we should look to the Bible as a reference for the teachings of Jesus. The way we live our lives should be according to the teachings of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and not by the opinions or standards set by man.

Luke 12:37-38

“Blessed are those servants whom the master, when he comes, will find watching. Assuredly, I say to you that he will gird himself and have them sit down to eat, and will come and serve them. And if he should come in the second watch, or come in the third watch, and find them so, blessed are those servants.”

WATCH THEREFORE AND BE READY FOR HIS RETURN! MARANATHA!

HOW TO BE AN OBEDIENT CHRISTIAN

1. TITHE ( Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the LORD Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it. – Malachi 3:10)

2. Pray (“Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up. – Luke 18:1” ; “Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. – Colossions 4:2”; “Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. – 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18)YOU HAVE TO PRAY ALWAYS NOT JUST ONCE A DAY BUT MORE!

3. Go to church more than once a week (“For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.” –  Matthew 18:20)

4. Give up worldly thing(Do not love the world 2 John 2:15-17)

5. Read the Bible everyday (“In the beginning [before all time] was the Word (Christ), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God Himself. – John 1:1”; Every Scripture is God-breathed (given by His inspiration) and profitable for instruction, for reproof and conviction of sin, for correction of error and discipline in obedience, [and] for training in righteousness [in holy living, in conformity to God’s will in thought, purpose, and action]. – 2 Timothy 3: 16)

6. Love the LORD MORE THAN ANYTHING in the world. (“And you shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ This is the first commandment. And the second, like it, is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” There is no other commandment greater than these.” – Mark 12:30-31)

7. Live a Christian life everyday (You have to show people that you are a real Christian NOT just when you are inside the church. “Therefore, prepare your minds for action; be self-controlled; set your hope fully on the grace to be given you when Jesus Christ is revealed. As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance. But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.” – 1 Peter 1:13-16)
