The Eye is the Lamp of the Body

The Eye is the Lamp of the Body

As each day starts, we are constantly bombarded by information in all directions. The moment we turn on the television, we immediately feed our minds with whatever news or program that’s  being broadcast. Or if we open our computers and browse the web, we quickly access information in a single glance-from sports sites, hollywood movies, rumours, gossips, fashion tips and so on.

Our minds generally feed on information. And whatever info we  see, our mind can remember – whether it’s good or bad.

Jesus said in Matthew 6:22 -23:
Matthew 6:22-23 (New International Version)
22 The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are good, your  whole body will be full of light.

23 But if your eyes are bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness!

Just imagine the amount of information that your mind stores every time it glances on something. If we look at the newspaper and see crimes and wars, we are filled with sadness and hatred. If we watch movies that are violent, then we somehow get those  images in our minds.

This will slowly build-up and eventally be assimilated in our moods and behaviors. And slowly this  information overload will bear fruit.

Now, if you focus on the God’s Word – The Bible. Then the fruit of it is that you will become a better Christian- with a deeper understanding of who God is. But if you spend more time reading the World’s Word – Newspaper, Magazines, Televisions, then you will be of the World. ( Garbage In, Garbage Out)

As Jesus said, Matthew 7:18-20 (New International Version)

18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear  good fruit.

19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.

20 Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them.

As Christians, we all believe that the Bible is Truth and Word of  God. People can spend so much time reading the newspaper or magazines daily, but they can’t read their Bible everyday.

Every Scripture is God-breathed (given by His inspiration) and profitable for instruction, for reproof and conviction of sin, for correction of error and discipline in obedience, [and] for training in righteousness [in holy living, in conformity to God’s will in thought, purpose, and action]. – 2 Timothy 3:16

Now, What Have You Been Looking at Lately?

Read the Bible instead!

God Bless!

ARE YOU A TRUE CHRISTIAN?

“And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” John 8:32

Although many people claim to be Christians, that term is nothing more than just a label for some.

Christianity is firmly based on the belief that Jesus Christ is the Messiah, the Son of God who died on the cross for the sins of mankind, and rose again after three days to show the power and glory of God in Him. Jesus is the reason why Christianity exists.

Jesus Christ is the only mediator between God and man. There is no one else.

“For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;” 1 Timothy 2:5

“I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” John 14:6

Jesus said that HE is the only way to God. No one comes to the Father except through HIM.  The only way to salvation and eternal life is through Jesus Christ.

Jesus clearly said in John 14:12

“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also, and greater works than these he will do because I go to My Father.

And whatever you ask in My Name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My Name, I will do it.” John 14:13-14

If you are truly His follower then you will pray directly to Him. Jesus never mentioned any other person to intercede for us aside from Himself.

And How we pray is just as important, as Jesus said in Matthew 6:5-8

“And when you pray, you shall not be like the hypocrites. For they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward. But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly. And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. For they think that they will be heard for their many words.”

He condemned vain and repetitive prayers.

Pray from the heart. God listens.

Jesus promised to send a Helper to guide us. John 14:15:

“If you love Me, keep My Commandments. And I will pray to the Father that He will give you another Helper, that He may abide in you forever. The Spirit of Truth whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him, but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.”

Jesus was talking about the Holy Spirit being the Helper, who manifested in the Apostles during the Day of Pentecost, and still in works today for those who call on Him.

There is no such mention of a queen or any lady to intercede or grant our prayers. Jesus only talked about God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.

The apostles of Jesus Christ received the Holy Spirit and started to spread the Gospel (The Good News of our Salvation through Christ Jesus).

The bible (Old Testament and New Testament) was completed in 95 AD, and it is the cornerstone of Christian faith.

How about those mystical apparitions? Do they not promote a religious life that God would be proud?mirjana2

Apparitions maybe supernatural in nature, but not all of them are from God. Do your own personal research on this: who is venerated the most in such situations, is it Jesus Christ or someone else? Who do they pray to or call to for help? Who is granted more titles, shrines and statues when it occurs? Ridiculously, people who are deceived confer titles to give honor to these events. ( ex. Mediatrix of Grace, Spouse of the Holy Spirit, etc.)

***Just side note: lucifer/the devil was once an angel of light who was cast down to hell because of his pride and ego to be like God. If he can turn into a snake in the Garden of Eden, I’m sure he can turn into anything he wants to be to deceive people.

In fact, in these so called “holy” apparitions, the message is that Jesus Christ is angry and He will destroy everyone. Unless they pray to another intercessor, mediator or a queen of heaven to appease the fury of the God, the people of Earth will feel the wrath of God. When a person prays to another person aside from God or Jesus, then that is called Idolatry.

Idolatry in the dictionary is defined as “extreme reverence for something or someone – to love or worship something. So when somebody prays to someone or something other than God, then you are showing extreme reverence for that thing – Idolatry. That clearly goes against what God said to Moses in Exodus 20: 3

– “You shall have no other gods before me. 4 – You shall not make for yourself a carved image – in any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; 5 – you shall not bow to them nor to serve them. For I, the Lord your God am a jealous God.

Again, Jesus Christ is the only mediator between God and Man. And there is no else.

“I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” John 14:6

As Jesus said in John 8:31, “If you abide in my Word, you are my disciples indeed. 32 – “And you shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free”

Jesus said to abide, which means to follow His word. And if we follow His Word then we are His followers. Now, do you want to follow the truth, or just keep on being spoon-fed by others who have strayed from Christ’s teachings?

Nowadays, the tradition of doing things takes precedence over the truth of salvation. Some people would rather go through the motions of doing things, since it is the norm and everyone is doing it. But will all of those things really bring you to Heaven? Some people would rather be in their comfort zone than face the truth. Their faith in their tradition and doctrine is much stronger rather than seeking the truth about what Jesus Christ really taught.

As the Apostle Paul said his letter to the Colossians 2: 8 (AMP)

“ See to it that no one carries you off as spoil or makes you yourselves captive by his so-called philosophy and intellectualism and vain deceit (idle fancies and plain nonsense), following human tradition (men’s ideas of the material rather than the spiritual world, just crude notions following the rudimentary and elemental teachings of the universe and disregarding [the teachings of] Christ (the Messiah)

Do you follow the tradition of man or Jesus Christ?

As Jesus said, “I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” John 14:6

Jesus said in John 8:31, “If you abide in my Word, you are my disciples indeed. 32 – “And you shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free

The road to salvation is simply this – accept Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior and repent for your sins. It doesn’t matter what you’ve done in the past. We all fall short of the glory of God. If you want to fill the void or emptiness in your life, then simply say this prayer with sincerity in your heart.

“Dear Jesus, I acknowledge and accept you as my Lord and Savior. Thank you for dying on the cross for all my sins. Please forgive me and come into my life. I need you. Help me to know you more. Amen.”

You are now a new creation in Christ and free from the bondage of sin. Expect the power of Jesus to manifest in your life.

“This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!” 2 Corinthians 5:17
